LG PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK: WILDER TRIUMPHS IN FIRST STEEL CITY DERBY IN FIVE YEARS

The League Managers Association’s five-man panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, has determined that the LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Sheffield United for their 4-2 victory against local rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday 24th September 2017.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.

Match Report

The first Steel City derby since 2012 saw United dominant and increase the gap over Wednesday in the Championship table.

Leon Clarke scored twice, whilst John Fleck and Mark Duffy were also on target.
